Award-winning partnership
Ian Williams has helped support Solihull
Council to win a national procurement award. Representatives from
Ian Williams attended the SOPO Awards on November 11 to see
Solihull Council pick up the accolade for Outstanding Achievement
in Procurement. The award recognises the strong partnership built
between the council and its two maintenance providers, one of whom
is Ian Williams. The seven-year building maintenance contract was
awarded to Ian Williams in February 2007 and is worth around £4m a
year.
Alan Soper, Ian Williams’ Managing Director,
said: “We are delighted to have supported Solihull Council in
winning this prestigious award. This is a great recognition
of a supply contract relationship, built up over many years, which
has allowed for all parties to learn and pull together with the aim
of fully satisfying building users.”
Cabinet Member for Resources, Councillor Ken
Hawkins said: “As a local authority we must ensure our contracts
are with companies who provide expert services and value in their
sector. Once we announce a contract, a lot of time and effort
is put into ensuring the best company is appointed.
“Through our partnerships with Dodd Group and
Ian Williams we have been able to monitor performance, develop a
level of understanding for work, and therefore provide better
customer service.”
