Ian Williams has scooped a top award, recognising its commitment to looking after homes in Newport. The company was named Charter Company 2009 at the second Newport Construction Initiative (NCI) awards held in February. The awards reward achievement in the construction sector. They were presented by the deputy leader of Newport City Council.
Ian Williams signed up to the Newport Construction Charter in May 2009. Work acknowledged as part of the award included a contract with Newport City Homes to bring its homes up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard, and an ongoing commitment by the company to employing local people and recruiting apprentices.
Ian Williams’ Cardiff office employs 110 people. Its clients include Newport City Homes, Powys County Council, Cardiff County Council, Linc Cymru, Hafod Housing Association and Monmouthshire Homes. The company has worked in Wales for more than 60 years.
