Keeping it in the family
Family Mosaic has agreed a £3 million contract
with property services expert Ian Williams to ensure its homes are
among the best in the country.
Ian Williams has been tasked with completing
kitchen and bathroom replacements in almost 300 properties across
north London. Rewiring and checks on heating pipes will also take
place to ensure the properties meet the Decent Homes standard by
2010.
The Decent Homes standard is a Government
target to ensure all rented housing is up to scratch. In order to
be decent a home should be warm, weatherproof and have reasonably
modern facilities.
Ian Williams has already been working with
Family Mosaic on cyclical maintenance projects.
Two resident liaison officers have been
recruited to help deliver the new contract which is expected to
take 16 months to complete. The Ian Williams’ team will operate
from its Neasden office.
Charlotte Bent, general manager at Ian
Williams, said: “We are delighted to secure this additional work
with Family Mosaic. As an organisation we are keen to work with
well-performing housing associations and Family Mosaic is a key
part of that ambition.
“With two London offices and considerable
experience of housing in the capital we are well-placed to deliver
this contract and look forward to working with Family Mosaic’s
customers."
