  • Knightstone Signs Deal with Ian Williams and MITIE

Knightstone Housing Association has entered into a five-year Decent Homes agreement with Ian Williams for the north of its area and MITIE for the south. The contract is worth over £25m which covers the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, central heating and rewiring of 5,000 homes.

About the agreement, Mike Rowe, Knightstone’s Assistant Director of Asset Management, said: “We are very pleased to have selected Ian Williams and MITIE, jointly with our residents, to deliver a substantial planned maintenance programme over the next five years. We will work in partnership to produce a standard that meet our residents’ needs, which includes securing best value and providing warm and secure homes.”

Adrian Dawson, a Director of MITIE’s Property Services division, said: "We work with social housing providers across the country, and we understand that at the root of every successful partnership is good communication. We also know that communicating with tenants at every stage of the refurbishment process is vital to success, so we'll be involving tenants throughout and listening carefully to their feedback. We're looking forward to working with Knightstone and helping to create places that people can be proud of."

Mike Turner, Development Director at Ian Williams, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to working with Knightstone residents to ensure they have high-quality improvements which are installed at the minimum inconvenience. Our team has a strong track record of working in occupied properties and we bring that expertise with us into this job.

“As an organisation, we are keen to develop long-term relationships with clients to improve efficiency and create a real partnership approach. This five-year deal gives us the scope to do this and really get to the heart of what Knightstone and its residents need.”
