Minister ‘Delighted’ by modernised Blandford Garrison homes

Minister for Defence, Equipment and Support, Quentin Davies, visited Blandford Garrison in Dorset recently to meet some of the military families who have just moved into modernised homes at the base. During his visit Mr Davies was shown inside some of the 136 homes which are being refurbished under a two-year programme which includes new kitchens, boilers, bathrooms, re-roofing, rewiring, garden sheds and patios. Mr Davies said: “I am delighted by what I have witnessed. Our military personnel and their families make great sacrifices for their country and these modernised homes meet the decent standards of accommodation that they deserve.”

Nick Acheson, who has had responsibility for Ian Williams contracts at the garrison, said “This has been a challenging job but we are delighted that our hard work has resulted in a positive outcome for the families involved and that this has been recognised.”
