Brent PFI takes step forward, with other agreements secured in last few months

The latest milestone in the Private Finance Initiative deal to boost accommodation for homeless Brent residents has been reached, with our appointment to maintain the homes. We have been appointed by the Brent Coefficient Consortium to deliver housing management services to the new development of 375 homes and 25 care accommodation flats. The contract, worth £21m over 20 years, will see our London team undertake a range of tasks including inspections of the finished properties, ongoing building maintenance, pest control, grounds maintenance and cleaning. Our appointment follows the council’s decision in 2006 to use PFI to address the shortage of accommodation for homeless families and the need for high-quality accommodation for adults with learning disabilities. The consortium, working on behalf of Brent Council, is made up of Hyde Housing Association, Bouygues UK and funders Nord LB and Barclays Bank.

In addition to this latest development Ian Williams has enjoyed success securing other contracts over recent months. Warwick District Council has appointed us to take responsibility for electrical testing on one contract, with a further agreement to work on void properties to ensure they are ready for re-let as quickly as possible. We have also secured a deal with Anchor Trust to install new kitchens and bathrooms as part of its Decent Homes work. The contract is worth £250,000  per year  A four-year agreement with Cheltenham Borough Homes which sees our team take on the painting of the arm’s length management organisation’s housing stock over the next four years. The contract is worth £250,000 per annum. Cheltenham Borough Homes is a three-star organisation
