We are working in more than 5,000 homes across
Wales, and with more than 20 councils, housing providers and
schools, so you are never far from an Ian Williams operative. We’ve
worked in Wales for more than 60 years, and as a result have built
up a great professional workforce, which has delivered a variety of
exciting projects and community activities. 
Ian Williams’ Cardiff office employs 110

General Manager: Ken Jones
With responsibility for the Cardiff office,
Ken has overall product leadership for all capital works projects,
including Decent Homes and Welsh Housing Quality Standard.
Ken is a member of several partnering core groups and is
responsible for the development and dissemination of best
practice.
Building Maintenance Manager: Paul Price
Over Paul’s 15 years with the company, he has
headed up our planned maintenance contracts with Cardiff City
Council, Newport City Homes, Tai Calon, and Caerphilly County
Borough Council to deliver a variety of projects, including our
work on the current WHQS heating, electrical, kitchen and bathroom
improvement contracts. Paul also takes responsibility for
maximising personal development and continuous improvement within
our team.
Painting and Repairs Manager – Philip
Jones
Philip ensures the successful and timely
delivery of redecoration and repairs management services, including
cyclical decorations, and repairs, and bathroom upgrades. With more
than 20 years’ experience in this post, Philip also looks at ways
to improve the lifecycle of our clients’ redecoration and repairs
programmes, and ensures that targets are met.
Business Development and Community Engagement
Manager – Sinead O’Neill
Sinead deals with stakeholders at all
strategic levels within the community engagement process to create
plans that recognise different communities’ unique challenges,
aspirations and aims. She is visionary in designing, implementing
and delivering community engagement initiatives, CSR and targeted
recruitment and training opportunities. Sinead is passionate about
ensuring that a lasting legacy is left after the physical work of a
regeneration project has been completed.
Case Studies
Major Refurbishment
Ian Williams has worked with Newport City
Homes for three years on its £18 million refurbishment package to
install new kitchens, bathrooms and electrical wiring in affordable
homes in the city. This programme of major home improvements has
transformed the quality of life for thousands of residents across
Newport City. We are helping Newport City Homes ensure all its
9,000 homes meet the WQHS by 2012.
Community Investment
Pupils and parents have benefitted from
improvements to St Albans Primary School in Tremorfa, Cardiff,
thanks to Ian Williams’ commitment to community investment
projects. We held events at the school to meet with pupils and
parents to make sure that they had an input into the future of the
school. Some of the projects include refurbishing the conservatory,
building new work spaces and storage and repainting the outside
foundation phase play areas. We are continuing to work with the
