A new state-of-the-art food production facility is being built in Wiltshire by Chamberlain, the construction arm of building maintenance specialist Ian Williams.

The £1 million contract will see the existing processing centre for frozen food supplier apetito ltd transformed to be more efficient and provide greater opportunity and space for the Trowbridge company to grow.

While the work on the refurbishment goes ahead, including removing and creating new walls, adding in drainage and building machinery, it will be business for usual for the 480 workers based at the factory.

Chamberlain will be delivering the project from its Bristol base, with more than 20 staff working on the build until its expected completed in December 2008.

Julian Mann, unit manager at Chamberlain, said: “This is an exciting project which will completely modernise the food production centre and significantly increase capacity.

“The work is being carefully planned so that production can be maintained throughout the time we are on site.

“We are delighted to be working with apetito ltd and look forward to building a lasting relationship with them.”
