Working in your home

 

When we are working in your home we will

 

  • Be polite, responsible and helpful and show respect to you and your property
  • Make and keep appointments, or advise of any changes as soon as possible
  • Show a photographic ID card and ask permission to enter your property
  • Wear clean Ian Williams uniforms and workwear
  • Decide the level of safety required for each operation and put in measures accordingly
  • Agree with you where we can store materials if necessary and where we can park vehicles
  • Explain the scope and the sequence of the work to be done
  • Provide you with a list of contacts if you have any questions or worries
  • Use clean dust sheets and display warning notices including wet paint signs
  • Minimise excessive levels of any mechanical plant noise
  • Make sure your property is secure at all times, and keep front doors and gates shut
  • Ensure the work area is left clean, safe and tidy at the end of each day
  • Clear and remove all waste or make collection arrangements
  • Inspect finished works and check if you’re happy before we leave
  • Show patience and understanding when dealing with customers who have special requirements
  • Respond to complaints quickly and efficiently  
  • Ask you to fill in a customer care card to rate our performance

 

When we are working in your home we will not

 

  • Start work before 8am or work after 5pm or at weekends unless this has been agreed in advance with you and your Landlord
  • Use any equipment or property belonging to you including telephones, tea and coffee
  • Not play radios
  • Leave you without water, gas or electricity longer than is absolutely necessary
