Asset Management in
Educational Premises Made Simple
What is the Asset Inspection & Maintenance
Plan?
The Asset Inspection and
Maintenance Plan is a simple and cost effective solution covering
all statutory tests and inspections, ensuring that not only
are your premises and assets in compliance with current
legislation, but safe, secure and efficient. Driven by dedicated Ian Williams’ education
premises teams, this proactive, single point of contact service
starts with a full site survey, whereby all assets are logged and
checked against current regimes and requirements in compliance of
statutory Health and Safety legislation. A planned inspection and
maintenance calendar is formulated to safeguard that periodic
inspection and testing meets legal requirements, and to control the
agencies which carry these out, including the programming and
management of existing sub-contractors. A complete register of testing and inspection
regimes and certification is made to ensure full compliance, is
regularly maintained and audited, and remains on your
premises.

What are the benefits of the Asset Inspection &
Maintenance Plan?
Quite simply, by allowing Ian Williams to take
care of your asset inspections, it alleviates the operational and
administrative headache that Head Teachers, Bursars, Business
Managers and Site Supervisors have in making sure that their
premises are statutorily compliant, saving time, money and effort.
In detail, it allows the opportunity to achieve best practice,
target limited resource to greatest need, limits costly, unplanned
emergency response works thereby minimising disruption to learning,
assesses Whole Life Costings, and Value and Risk Management. The
Asset Inspection and Maintenance Plan also
provides head teachers and staff with advice and training on
maintenance and supports the completion of the Asset Management
Plan (AMP).
What does the Asset Inspection & Maintenance Plan
cover?
The operation and maintenance of modern day
school buildings is a complex area bounded by many regulations and
standards. Ian Williams is a specialist in the care of buildings
within the education sector, and as such fully understand the
statutory requirements for maintenance and servicing, which are
derived from health and safety legislation, the Approved Codes of
Practice which support them, British Standards and guidance from
specialist bodies.
