Huge congratulations to our apprentices, Leo Bryer and Molly Platts, who achieved third and fourth place respectively in the KFE4SKILLS24 competition, hosted by Kent Further Education College.
The competition brings together all the partner colleges to run over 25 industry competitions. Leo and Molly took part in the Trade industries event at East Kent Colleges Group’s Maidstone College, where they are studying all the relevant skills to support their Painting and Decorating Apprenticeships as part of the Maidstone team at Ian Williams.
The competition was driven by Kent College to test their creative skills by copying and sketching a provided design, then painting the design to a high quality and articulated level. They were nominated to take part in the competition by Christina Wilson, a senior college representative.
Paul Russell, Contracts Manager in Maidstone comments: “The competition provided both apprentices the opportunity to test their skills and gain invaluable experience in readiness for their final exams.
“Both Leo and Molly demonstrate a calm determination to learn the skills of their chosen profession to enable them to advance to becoming full-time members of the team. Well done both of you on your successes in the competition.”
Ian Williams commits to having apprentices make up at least 10% of our workforce, managed by our award-winning Academy. Opportunities to join the 2024 apprenticeship programme open on 29th April. Click here to find out more and register your interest.
