From my initial application through to commencing my employment I was treated in a professional and friendly manner. A real people and team focus was evident throughout and I was made to feel welcome during every interaction.
A very detailed induction and review process and honest feedback at all levels.

I found the recruitment process great. The application to interview then second interview flowed nicely in a quick timescale. It’s always nice when you don’t have to wait for decisions like these.
The interviews were friendly, positive and two way which was nice and made the process very pleasant and most definitely had a bearing on my decision to accept the position and join Ian Williams.
The induction day at Head Office was very informative, and I took a lot from it.
I joined as Receptionist at our Head Office; at that time, I didn’t imagine I would be with the business 17 years later! I spoke to my manager about career opportunities and completed a HNC in Business which I later expanded into a full degree. I moved into the HR team which over time developed to managing the entire HR function. The most enjoyable aspects of my role have been building the HR team and (hopefully!) creating a successful environment. I aim to provide the same opportunities to others as I have had.
I have been very fortunate in my career. I had many mentors as an apprentice and recognise the input each one of them had into my development. Thanks to the fact I’ve ‘grown up’ within the Ian Williams’ mentoring programme, I’m able to directly pass on the skills I gained from those who had a positive influence on my career path. I try to treat every apprentice the way I was treated by my mentors.
During the recruitment process one of the main things that stood out to me was how relaxed and friendly all the staff were, this enabled me to stay calm and present myself to the best of my ability. I also liked attending the assessment day the amount of information passed on from different team members was helpful. I also liked that high-ranking members of staff were so involved including Directors it installed confidence in me personally especially when they reiterated how much they wanted us to succeed.
