Drop The Boss!

On Friday 18th October, the Spring Lakes Leisure Centre in Nottingham saw host to the Nottingham Capital team dropping their boss, Simon Larkworthy, 160ft – in the name of charity, of course!

The event was organised by local radio station, Gem radio as part of their “Cash for Kids” campaign, which supports children in the East Midlands areas that may be living in poverty, with an illness or disability or be subject to neglect or abuse. Every penny raised goes towards grants to individual children, groups or children’s charities. The Ian Williams Foundation has donated £250 in support, whilst the Nottingham has team have been hard at work fundraising raising nearly £900.

The fundraising campaign was led by Kayleigh Pritchard, who comments: “Although Simon is a good boss, when we heard about the Gem radio event, we couldn’t resist entering him to take part.  Unbeknown to Simon, during our fundraising we also asked for suggestions on the costume he should wear…Superman won!

“So, on Friday morning Simon very willingly transformed into Superman and made the 160ft jump.  The day was great fun and we are delighted with how much support we have had so far.
