Newtown Community Centre spruced up with new passive fire protection in time for National Village Hall week

January’s National Village Hall Week aims to celebrate England’s Village Halls, so we were delighted to unveil the £75,000 refurbishment of ‘community gem’ Newtown Community Centre on behalf of Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (WCVA) The centre consists of a main hall, small hall and a function lounge and kitchen, and is home to more than 20 community groups supporting the many local residents now set to benefit from the transformation.

As property services partner to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council who recently transferred the Community Centre to WCVA, Ian Williams was appointed to carry out the refurbishment. The project involved structural and internal alterations, including suspended ceiling systems, electrical upgrades and decoration throughout. A new kitchen was installed and we refurbished the rest areas as well as all flooring.’

A FIRAS accredited partner, our specialist competent team also installed a new fire alarm system and fire doors appropriate to the new layout.
