Ian Williams has reinforced its commitment to skills, safety and quality by delivering a major NVQ training programme across its workforce.
More than 20% of the company’s directly employed colleagues have now achieved formal NVQ qualifications, with 300 operatives, forepeople, supervisors, site managers and contracts managers completing qualifications ranging from Level 2 in their trade through to senior management levels.
The programme reflects the company’s proactive approach to evolving industry requirements, including the Building Safety Act 2022, which places greater emphasis on demonstrating competence through Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours (SKEB).

Delivered through the Ian Williams Academy, the programme has seen over 2,700 hours of training completed, supporting colleagues across a wide range of trades and roles.
Alongside this investment, Ian Williams continues to develop future talent through its apprenticeship and early careers programmes, with apprentices making up around 14% of its workforce, significantly above the industry average.
