Managing Surveyor, Leeds

Location: Based in Morley, Leeds

Hours: Full Time. Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours

We have had success over the last few years in moving our business, Ian Williams, into the North East and North West. Last year we opened our Morley, Leeds office due to a social housing contract we secured, long term. It's an Asset Management contract and we are looking for a highly commercial, astute Managing Surveyor to control the costs of the contract. 

We are Investors in People and we want some one who genuinely believes the customer is at the heart of everything we do and is a positive leader to encourage and motivate the commercial team to be driven in building an excellent working relationship with the client, while maintaining profit. 

What we offer:

  • Responsibility- developing and maintaining a high performing commercial team to ensure the contract is being delivered at or above the agreed profit performance including 121’s, appraisals and performance management
  • Accountability-  managing the financial and technical aspects of the contract including procurement, invoicing and payment to minimise costs, maximise value and cash flow and meet profit and debtor day targets
  • Opportunity to incentivise- ensuring all work issued has labour targets to return agreed profit
  • Commercial Management- managing the contract accounting and ensuring prompt payment, control cost information and preparing Cost Value Reconciliation and valuations to monitor contract performance
  • Support- creating a safe and supportive working environment for you to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers and sub-contractors

 What we want:

  • Proven experience in a similar commercial management or managing surveyor role
  • The passion and drive to lead and develop a successful commercial team and demonstrate this from previous experience
  • Experience managing cost control and being responsible for profit and loss
  • The accountability to manage your contracts successfully
  • The passion for business, to meet the budget and keep yourself and the team motivated so you WILL get that 25% performance reward bonus
