£3.6million contract to upgrade Powys homes
Leading property services company Ian Williams has secured a £3.6million contract to improve 5,500 homes in Powys.
The contract will see Ian Williams replace up to 300 bathrooms and 100 kitchens per year for the next three years.
The contract boost will also create apprenticeship and work experience opportunities for local people.
Ian Williams has been working with the Council for the last four years on a bathrooms-only contract and this new business builds on the existing relationship.
The £1.2million per year deal also includes estate works such as external wall insulation and decoration.
Steve Lenahan, business manager at the company’s Cardiff office, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract and build on the partnership we already have with Powys County Council.
“The feedback following the tender showed that we were the strongest on value for money and quality services. Our commitment to high quality services and customer satisfaction has helped us to continue to work with long-standing clients like Powys Country Council.
“As a local employer we have committed to taking on an apprentice and work experience placements, as well as making wider community investment to benefit local residents.”
