Father and daughter team

While Ian Williams is now one of the UK’s largest privately-owned property services companies, we retain at our heart, a family-run business ethos. Direct employment, training opportunities and long careers are part of our core business strategy and this is never better represented than when we have generations of the same family working together.

Father and daughter, Rob and Rebecca Jeffreys, are both painters and decorators with Ian Williams. Rebecca joined Ian Williams as an apprentice, recommended by her dad, so we asked them a few questions about their experience of working together for Ian Williams and training under the Ian Williams Academy:

Best thing about your job?

Rob: Working within a good team who all get along, and the variety of work which we carry out.

Rebecca: I am constantly learning new skills on site whilst working towards my NVQ. I feel I have support from Ian Williams and college.

Why did you recommend an Ian Williams apprenticeship to your daughter?

Rob: Once I started at Ian Williams, I realised how good a company it was and how well they treat their employees. I was also very impressed with the approach towards Health & Safety. I knew straight away I wanted Rebecca to join me.

What do you like about working for Ian Williams?

Rob: It is a fair and honest place to work and there are always opportunities

Rebecca: The best thing for me is seeing how I can progress in the company once I have achieved my NVQ.

What do you like about working with your Dad?

Rebecca: He is very experienced and knowable in painting, plus I get a lift to and from work each day!
