Ian Williams makes the grade to achieve the Cyber Secure Standard

Over recent years Ian Williams has made significant investment into its IT infrastructure, with a focus on availability, efficiency, resilience and security. The culmination of this approach was the launch of IWSYS, our mobile asset management solution which provides a single cohesive approach that includes call diagnosis, digital inclusion, vehicle tracking, delivery KPIs and centralised helpdesk.

IT is at the heart of many of our contracts, so it’s critical that we not only keep our data safe, but that of our clients too. That’s why we’re delighted to have been recognised as a Cyber Essentials Certified company.

Mike Dunstan, IT Manager at Ian Williams comments: “The Cyber Essentials Scheme provides an industry recognised template of recommended controls that demonstrate a commitment to security and data privacy and should prevent around 80% of common cyber-attacks. This recognised, nationwide standard demonstrates to our partners and clients our commitment to cyber security – as well as firmly underpinning our commitment to GDPR and data privacy.

“The journey to achieve this milestone, has required a full review and audit of our infrastructure and standards, with changes ranging from the simple (password complexity requirements) to business transformation level (Upgrading all PC’s to Windows 10 / whole disk encryption)

“Whilst we are very proud to have been Cyber Essentials certified, this is by no means the end of the journey. We continue to further strengthen our security profile with a view to Cyber Essentials Plus certification before the end of the year.”
