Ian Williams Scoops Best Apprentice Scheme in the National Housing Maintenance Forum 2018 Awards

The Ian Williams’ team is delighted to be announced the winner of the National Housing Maintenance Forum (NHMF) Best Apprentice Scheme in their 2018 awards which highlight ingenuity and success within the housing sector.

Sian Pearce, Training and Development Manager for the Ian Williams’ Academy commented: “Winning this award is especially important as it reflects excellence in our core business strategy of attracting and developing the best talent and being an employer of choice. We are committed to direct delivery of our services and as such have a commitment to 10% of our workforce being apprentices.

“This NHMF accolade specifically recognises The Academy which we created to formalise the significant investment we commit as an organisation to training and development. The Academy Apprenticeship programme is an industry-leading scheme to attract, retain, train and develop apprentices, providing a long term, sustainable workforce that is flourishing with healthy, productive careers. We’ve already been recognised by Investors in People as ‘a great place to work’ and the scheme has also been described by the CITB as a Best-in-Class approach in addressing severe skills shortages within construction. To add this NHMF honour is a further, very welcome endorsement of The Academy’s approach. I’m truly delighted that the excellent work we do in training and developing apprentices has been recognised by the NHMF Award judges.”
