Leading property services provider, Ian Williams, is delighted to announce that its chosen charity for 2024–25 is the Lighthouse Charity, the organisation with the unique vision that no construction worker or their family should ever be alone in a crisis. In addition to raising donations for this amazing charity over the next 12 months, Ian Williams will be promoting its status as a Company Supporter to help fund the service for the sector as a whole as well as signposting their employees to the charity’s Helpline ,self-support app and Lighthouse Beacons.
Jason Gorin, Ian Williams’ People Director comments: “We’ve been working closely with Lighthouse Charity recently and are excited to become an official Company Supporter over the next 12 months. With shocking statistics showing that every single working day in the UK, two construction workers take their own lives, and every year there are over 82,000 work-related illnesses directly contributed to working in the sector, we want to do as much as we can to help. This help will come in the form of financial support – we have initially pledged £10,000 which will be supported by additional fundraising activities – but equally important is to raise awareness of the charity across our own teams as well as the sector as a whole. Lighthouse service users have said how important it is to easily access the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support they need, when they need it.
“We are also planning on partnering with Lighthouse Charity to provide training for our Mental Health First Aiders as well as utilising their MakeItVisible on-site team and Ambassadors. We’re excited to see the innovative and creative ways our teams across the business will be raising donations for these much-needed services provided by the charity”.
Sarah Bolton, CEO of the Lighthouse Charity added: “We are delighted to have Ian Williams’ on board as Company Supporters. Not only are they supporting us financially, their pro-active stance on promoting a positive mental health culture will ensure that their teams know how to reach out for support if they need it and encourage open conversations where people feel supported.”
