Makeover for residential get-away

Our teams in Wales are looking forward to starting a significant improvement project for Pendarren House Outdoor Education Centre in South Wales, a fantastic residential get-away owned and managed by Haringey Council. Standing on the southern slopes of the Black Mountains, the 16-acre site and 1876 country house, have been providing residential adventure and environmental outdoor education courses for the young people of Haringey for 40 years.

The project will comprise significant upgrades to the Victorian manor house building and a smaller 1970s bungalow, including roofing repairs and replacements, fire safety upgrades and 47 new fire doors, M&E works including a new central plant installation and boiler and window and door refurbishments – all finished off to look fantastic with internal redecorations.

Unusual highlights and special challenges include replacing a lightning conductor and the installation of two 500kg units into the loft space which will involve the removal of the roof and some very specialist crane lifting!

We’re looking forward to the end result to help Haringey Council provide an even better rural environment to enjoy and learn in for young people from the city, working with Fulkers Bailey Russell.
