Mayflower 2020: creating a new forest….

Ian Williams is not generally involved in projects of a horticultural nature, but with strong roots in Plymouth and many clients in the South West region, we jumped at the chance to contribute to the Mayflower 2020 project whose aim is to regenerate a main route into Plymouth by planting 1000 trees.

2020 marks the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower from Plymouth UK to Plymouth Massachusetts, and the council and local businesses have lots of creative initiatives planned to celebrate. One of these is to build the Mayflower forest on the Marsh Mills roundabout, delivering aesthetic but more importantly environmental benefits through planting over 1000 trees.

We’re delighted to play our part through a donation to the project which is is endorsed by Destination Plymouth, Mayflower400 and Plymouth City
