Mental health support during COVID-19 because #EveryMindMatters

As Mental Health Awareness Week draws to a close, we want to say a big thankyou to our HR and Academy teams who have worked hard to continue to provide mental health support for all Ian Williams’ employees during the pandemic, including those who have stayed working, those on furlough and those who are now preparing to return to work.

We understand how a pandemic like COVID-19 can be scary from a personal and professional perspective, with significant changes to our lives and uncertainties which can cause a great deal of anxiety and stress. That’s why celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week this year is especially pertinent.

As we slowly start to open our doors again, we are putting in place as much support as we can to counter employee anxiety. In addition to a survey, asking our people about their concerns and worries associated with returning to work, we’ve also instigated a series of online training courses, produced by the British Safety Council. These include Remote Workers’ Health, Safety and Welfare; Managing Mental Health; Stress Awareness and Managing Stress Within A Team. This is supported by our ongoing Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
