Supporting Longfield Hospice’s Christmas Tree Recycling Campaign for the fifth year

`

We’re delighted that for the fifth consecutive year, we will be supporting Longfield Hospice, a charity local to our Head Office, with their Christmas tree recycling campaign. We’re a long standing supporter of the charity and in the past, we’ve helped refurbish their charity shops, joined in fun runs and donated the vans used by a team of volunteers to collect Christmas trees from homes and businesses across Gloucestershire at the end of the festive period. Our partner Fleet Operations will be supplying all ten vans for the cause.

Once collected, the trees are recycled before being stripped and de-barked. The chips are then bagged up and sold to raise funds as well as helping to enhance the hospice’s gardens. As in previous years, the money raised from the campaign will go towards providing specialist care for Longfield’s patients and their and support for their loved ones and carers.

Chief Executive, Simon Bernstein from the charity comments: ‘Longfield is an independent hospice reliant on the generous support from the public. All our services are provided free of charge. Without the support, we simply could not care for people in our community who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.. Our services extend to families who have lost a loved one with a bereavement and counselling service. The support we continue to receive from Ian Williams is truly amazing – thankyou”.
