The Powerhouse Community Makeover

Our painting team recently completed a week-long makeover at the Powerhouse in Liverpool.

The Powerhouse managed by Riverside Housing Association provides temporary, supported accommodation services for young people aged between 16 – 21. The Powerhouse offers invaluable services to younger people teaching them essential skills such as cooking and budgeting which enables them to manage their own tenancies when they move onto permanent accommodation.

Our operatives Alan Woosey, Morris Wilson and apprentice Jake Douvas in partnership with Riverside’s volunteers and residents gave the office, bedroom and the former lounge area which has now been repurposed as a meeting and conference room a makeover. All materials and labour were provided by Ian Williams as part of our ongoing commitment to deliver community benefits in the areas we are working within.

A buffet lunch was provided for all to celebrate the finished project.

“I’d just like to say thank you for allowing us to volunteer with your staff this week, we had a great team day on Tuesday, and all enjoyed getting stuck in. Alan, Mo and Jake were all really lovely, they gave us lots of useful tips and inspired us to get the paint brushes out at home. They really are a credit to your company.” Lorna Cotterill, Regional Projects Officer

“A massive Thank you to Kenny Rushton and the Ian Williams team who were efficient, professional and generous in providing the refurbishment FREE !!” – Joseph Edwards, Powerhouse Service Manager

Well done to all the team who took part and we’re absolutely delighted to receive such fantastic feedback from our customer.
