Earlier this year, we donated £7,500 to Standing Tall a charity providing long-term sustainable support for homeless people. Standing Tall matched us with a former Syrian refuge, Ciwan who came to the UK in 2006 but had recently found himself out of work and living on the streets. He joined our iwhub contact centre for 3 months when we discovered Ciwan had previous painting and decorating experience but held no recognised trade qualifications. We made a full-time offer of employment to join our local painting team and provided sponsorship for the completion of a 2-year OSAT (On site Assessment Training); equivalent to a NVQ Level 2.
We’re delighted to say that Ciwan has now settled into the new position and found permanent accommodation. Well done Ciwan and welcome to the team!
