Ian Williams supports the ‘Brunny’ response to Coronavirus (Covid-19)

When the first lockdown was announced and schools shut down, the Brunswick Youth and Community Centre in Bootle – known locally as the Brunny – stepped in with a system to enable the local children and young people to access a daily packed lunch in place of their free school meals. The initiative has continued throughout the pandemic and has evolved to offer wider community support such as food parcels, transport for medical needs, IT to support home learning and various outreach programmes.

There has also been a big focus on health and wellbeing. The Brunswick has made improvements maximise the site to support young people’s anxiety issues. Ian Williams is proud to have been able to support this initiative by donating time and expertise to help decorate the centre.

In addition to ourselves, the centres initiatives have been widely supported by other local businesses and charities and as a thank you, a poster has been created thanking each one. We decided to paint this as a mural on a large wall inside the centre to celebrate the efforts of all involved.
