Yet another award nomination for the Ian Williams’ Academy

Our commitment to direct delivery ensures that our recruitment and Academy teams were kept busy throughout the summer in readiness for our Autumn trade apprenticeship intake. Taking a break, the team were recently delighted to be recognised for all their hard work, by making the finals in the CITB Large Apprentice Employer of the Year category.

Ian Williams’ core business strategy is to attract and develop the best talent and to be an employer of choice. We are committed to direct delivery of our services and as such have a commitment to 10% of our workforce being apprentices.

Award winning Academy

In addition to this recent CITB success, the Ian Williams’ Academy was this year recognised by the National Housing Maintenance Forum who awarded us Best Apprentice Scheme 2018. This accolade was then added to, when we won the prestigious PwC ‘Winner of Winners’ in its Training and Personnel category.

Award winning apprentices

Therefore, it is no surprise that our apprentices who strive to be the best that they can in their chosen trades are also ‘winners’ This year alone we have seen shining star Tyler Heath awarded a CITB Scholarship at Nottingham College; Ben Hegedus scoop the Construction Apprentice of the Year Award at Walsall College and Dan Richard receive apprentice of the year from Coleg Sir Gar.

Zoe Evans who studies at Coleg Sir Gar won the Welsh regional heat of the CITB_UK ‘Skillbuild Competition’ has now qualified to the National finals with her world cup inspired artwork. The finals will be held in Birmingham in November 2018.

Our new intake of 2018 apprentices will be fully supported by our local teams and academy officers, but to have an award-winning pier group to look up to, advise and inspire them is priceless.
